1. About this app

Kikudu Trend Research ("the App") is a research tool for finding public posts on Threads by keyword or topic tag. It retrieves information through Meta's Threads API.

2. Information we access

• Your Threads user ID and username (threads_basic): used to show who is logged in.
• An access token, issued when you approve the App in the Threads authorization window: used only to call the search APIs on your behalf.
• The search terms you enter and the public posts the Threads API returns for them (text, author username, time, link, topic tag) (threads_keyword_search).
• Public profile statistics (follower count and 7-day totals of likes, views, replies, reposts and quotes) (threads_profile_discovery): retrieved only for a profile you ask for by pressing a button.
• Access logs: time, the path of the page requested and the response code. Search terms, access tokens and authorization codes are not logged.

The App does not access your followers list, direct messages or non-public posts. It never posts, replies, likes, follows or reposts on your behalf.

3. How we use it

Only to display the research results you request: post volume, words used together, popular posts, and public profile statistics.

4. Storage and retention

• Your access token, user ID and username are kept only on the App's server, as a temporary record that keeps you logged in. The record is deleted when you log out. It expires 60 minutes after login and is then removed. It is not saved in a database and is never written to logs.
• Search terms and search results are not stored on the App's servers. They are gone once the page has been shown.
• Separately from the App's servers, the operator may save the results of research run with the operator's own account (public post text, author username, link and time) on the operator's own computers for the operator's own analysis. Full research results are deleted within 90 days. A small number of posts chosen as study examples may be kept longer. None of this is republished or redistributed. If you are the author of a public post and want it removed from our records, contact us at the address above.
• The App uses one cookie to keep you logged in (sid) and one to remember the display language (lang). It uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Sharing

We do not sell the information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. We do not share it with third parties unless required by law. The App runs on the servers of a hosting provider, which handles data only as far as needed to run the App.

6. Revoking access and deleting data

• Logging out deletes your access token immediately.
• You can remove the App at any time in Threads under Settings → Account → Website permissions. When we are notified, we delete any login information held for you.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. The app secret stays on the server and is never sent to the browser.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
